Cai Wensheng, founder of photo-editing app Meitu, has acquired the 25-story PARK AURA building in Hong Kong’s Tin Hau district for HKD 650 million (USD 84 million). The deal reflects a 20% premium over comparable transactions, with a price per square foot exceeding HK$12,000.
The redevelopment plan includes an AI-themed café, co-working spaces for local entrepreneurs, and dedicated studios for AI and Web3 innovation. This move underscores a growing trend among Chinese tech entrepreneurs to invest in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and decentralized web infrastructure.
